Fire damage varies form a small range fire to a whole house or building in ashes. Each fire is different and the consequences can be detrimental. Whether emergency services are needed, insurance has already been involved, asbestos is involved or anything in between- we can help. We have numerous years of experience in fire restoration- the cleaning, removal of affected structure and contents and the build back/reconstruction. We work side by side with your insurance company to make sure all requirements are met and your claim is accepted through every step. We can even salvage certain contents using our sophisticated equipment and technology.
PRO TIP: If you have a small to medium size fire, be sure to turn off your AC/HVAC unit to avoid soot being circulated throughout the entire home or building. Too often do people forget to turn it off, or turn it on in hopes of airing out the smell. DO NOT DO THIS. Soot is very sticky and it get’s everywhere!
Heath Risks:
Besides the obvious risks burns and death, there are other health risks when fire damage occurs. The risks may vary in difference for instance if you have a fire that burns down a large chunk of your house vs. a small range fire. Obviously if you have a large house fire, you won’t be staying in your home anymore. Even range fires leave If left uncleaned, soot in the house may affect your breathing, skin issues, eye irritation, and even long term risks. If you don’t have a professional company come properly take care of your home or building, you expose yourself to risks to your health.
On some occasions, we run into fire ridden houses that are older and contain asbestos and/or lead in the structure. If your home was built or renovated in the year 1985 or older, your home has a high chance of being positive with asbestos; and if it’s built or renovated 1978 or older, your home has high chance of being positive for lead in the paint. If your home is positive with either of these hazardous minerals, our special abatement team will be needed to perform proper abatement. Once any of the materials containing lead or asbestos are disturbed (broken or exposed), the entire area is considered ‘hazardous’ and needs special, certified people to perform the abatement.
We cover all aspects for abatement including the reconstruction of the structure. While other companies only abate the hazardous material, we perform everything all the way to the build back to make your home or building better than before.
Commercial buildings are not held under the same safety in building materials as homes, thus are commonly abundant in asbestos and lead containing materials. Your commercial building may still be hot with asbestos even after the outlawing of asbestos containing materials after 1985.
Residential homes built or updated before 1985 have a high chance of containing asbestos in the building materials. In 1985, asbestos containing materials were outlawed in the U.S. Call us today to have it tested.
